The purpose of this study was to evaluate three-month primary school first grade orientation and preparation program and the quidebooks which were prepared in accordance with 4+4+4 regulation in 2012, in Turkey, according to opinions of first-grade primary school teachers. The participants of the study consist of 129 first-grade class teachers who work in primary schools under Turkish Ministery of Education. The data of the study was collected through “The Evaluation of First-grade Orientation and Preparation Program Survey” which was developed by the researchers. The developed survey consisted of 34 items in 3 dimensions of the program as input, process and output. The results revealed that teachers’ views on the input, process and output dimensions of the orientation program are moderately good. However, aim, activities, books, instructional technologies, strategies and methods, timing of the program should be revised carefully. They think that orientation program has been implemented well and they are more happy with the output of the program. On the other hand, they strongly agree with the idea that a kindergarten teacher should be employed along with classroom teacher and 60-72 months students should not receive education in the same classroom.
